For over 100 years, Maymont has been sharing its beautiful grounds with the public. On Saturday, May 2, one of their most beloved and favorite spaces is reopening after a two-year improvement project. The Virginia Wildlife Trail is celebrating its reopening from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with all three entrances open.
If you have never been or it has been a while, come see all the enhancements and native Virginia wildlife. These animals have been rescued and rehabilitated in this 40-acre sanctuary. There are many animals to see including the fox, eagle, bear, and two new additions, porcupines and a coyote!
Visitors will also enjoy free admission to The Robins Nature Center where you can see wildlife in their nearly 30,000 gallons of aquaria.
There will be plenty of entertainment too! Games and crafts, live music and food trucks, plus animal keeper talks and wildlife presentations. So, bring your family, bring the kids, and enjoy one of RVA’s iconic destinations this Saturday from 10-4.
